Wisconsin State Historical Society
The Wisconsin State Historical Society is charged with collecting, advancing, and disseminating knowledge of Wisconsin and of the trans-Allegheny West.

The La Crosse Public Library Archives
The La Crosse Public Library provides information on local history and geneology through the library's archive system. Indexes cover obituarys, births, weddings, divorces, and much other local information. Links to online resources are also provided.

La Crosse Area Research Center (ARC) and Special Collections
The Special Collections Department is located on the Main Floor North in the Murphy Library Resource Center at the UW-La Crosse. It includes the Area Research Center, the rare book and Wisconsiana collections, as well as an oral history collection, maps, photographs, and university archives.
